The old man who lunched alone

Clara, a young waitress of 27, feels increasingly fond of an elderly man. She is curious about him. All she knowsis that he lunches at the same table every Monday and invariably orders the same dishes: leek vinaigrette andstewed beef and carrots.

Little does Clara know that the old man – who has been through his share of emotional and physical ordeals in hislife – is also curious about her. Beneath the young woman’s kindness and unfailing good humor, he senses a flaw,a secret wound. He is right. Tormented by a guilt she feels because of actions that were not even her responsibility,Clara will not allow herself to be happy. But that might all change as she gets to know Clément, her new, chosengrandfather.

With Clara, Clément will learn to feel as positive and lighthearted as he was at twenty. With Clément, Clara will learn to forgive (herself) and love.
